Try one of these ideas

Re-focus your mind

Think of a positive event, someone special or achieving a goal.  Think in picture form.  Add color and sound if you can.  Also try list ten things you are thankful for and then express that thanks.

Doodle or sketch

This can be a fun way to release stress

Be interactive

Talk to someone, write a quick note to a friend or find a pet to interact with.

Make a plan

Write down two action steps for a nagging problem you need to solve.

Pray

Talking to God has been clinically shown to reduce blood pressure and be calming.

Children with you?

The key word is “together”.  They need your involvement.  Play tic-tac-toe, a guessing game or read a story together.  Watch them play and talk about their fun.  This can help both of you.

The classic approach: Breathing

Slowly inhale, counting to 4; hold for 4 counts; exhale very slowly and feel your body relax as the air goes out from your lungs.  Repeat without rushing.

“On the day I called Thou didst make me bold with strength in my soul.”

King David

There is a high correlation between increased stress levels and health problems.  Learning new ways to handle the stress can significantly benefit your life.
